About Us:  Blackwater Area Fire Protection District is a 100% volunteer organization and provides fire protection in Northwestern Cooper County and Southeastern Saline County.  This organization was formed in the 1970 as Blackwater Rural Fire Dept. and received all its funding from Memberships, Fundraisers, and Donations.  In 2014 the citizens of Northwestern Cooper County and Southeastern Saline County voted on forming a tax based Fire District, which then created Blackwater Area Fire Protection District.  The District is Governed by five board members, which volunteer their time to make sure the Fire District is properly controlled by the by-laws of the State of Missouri.  Currently, there are 15 firefighters that volunteer their time training, responding to emergency calls, and administrative work.
